Below is some rare footage of a Coal Ship coming into Sodus Bay. The film was given to me by Liz Ekkebus, a long time resident of Sodus Point. The film was taken by her father Harold Avery circa 1958. This 31 second clip was taken on a day where the family was at the beach and a coal ship happened to come in while they were there. I am unable to identify the Coal Ship. It might have been the Fontana but many of the coal ships had the same basic appearance.
