Herein lie early pioneer settlers of Sodus Point William Wickham (1778 – 1875), Capt. US Navy prior to 1812; his wife, Catherine Christian Wickham (1777 – 1868) and their descendants. Capt. Wickham was a founder of the Sodus Point Episcopal Church and postmaster for 42 years. His home in Sodus Point was burned by the British in the War of 1812, for it housed the post office, storehouse and temporary troop barracks.
