This nature preserve was created by the Genesee Land Trust. It preserves 34 acres within Sodus Point that is located in what used to be Macyville. Macyville was a section of Sodus Point in the 19th and 20th centuries which was a blue collar, industralized area consisting of the Pennysylvania Railroad, Coal Trestle and the Genesee Malt House. One of the very cool things to see on this trail is the “Macy Tree” which is one of the oldest trees in Wayne County and is estimated to be over 250 years old!
